White shorts that are actually white...

Lately I've been on a quest for white high waisted shorts. In a previous post, I mentioned Pacsun's mom shorts and how they came in a light blue color despite the tag saying white. High waisted white shorts will go with everything in the summer and will give your outfits a refreshed crisp vibe. So I finally bit the bullet and bought the American apparel shorts. I was so excited for them! I was envisioning them with a pink crop top and a long silver necklace. Or just to throw over a bikini on a pool day. I knew that these would be my new go to shorts this summer and I knew that these were the exact one's I wanted. So every single day after I placed an order on American Apparel I checked the mail immediately once I got home from school. One sunny day I yanked open the mail box and low and behold, there it was, the beautiful white package. I ran home and attacked the plastic with a pair of scissors only to reveal a pair of light blue shorts. Again. Really American Apparel, really?!? After my Pacsun incident I never thought that this would occur again. But here I am taking pictures of yet another light blue pair of shorts that are supposed to be white. I also picked up 3 scrunchies from American Apparel. For around $4-$5 each, I believe that they are making a comeback. I think they're super fun, and trust me, you need one in your life. I got a bubble gum pink, fluorescent pink, and a velour pink. Xxx Girl with The Pink Bow

My favorite drugstore pinky-nude lipsticks

It's no secret that I love a pinkish nude lip. The paler the better. I know a lot of people are not fans of this look but I am and I feel like it's the most flattering on my skin tone. I believe that a lip product in a light pale nude or pink is the hardest to make. Because the color is so light, the formula must be perfectly smooth to be comfortable on the lips. For this reason, many brands avoid making super light shades from high end to drugstore. The drugstore especially is lacking quite a bit in the nudey pink category but recently they have stepped up there game in balm stains, glosses, lip creams, and lipsticks. These are my favorite shades of lipstick that have a creamy formula and a pretty color. If you have naturally pigmented lips then maybe these shades are something you'd like to try out!
1. Rimmel Pink Blush
2. Covergirl outlast honeyed
3. Revlon color burst
4. Maybelline color sensational 010
5. NYX round lipstick (not shown on lips, swatched on an older post)

Is she wearing pants?! OOTD

One of the biggest trends lately has been the baby doll slip dresses that are super flowy and short. I think they look very brandy melville-esque, which isn't always my favorite thing. However, recently I have been intrigued by their easy, breezy summer vibe. They're something easy to throw on in the hot  (especially in Texas) summer. They still look cute, fit super loose so you can eat all you want to, and keep you cool. Couldn't get any more perfect right? But, I will say my biggest problem with these is feeling like people think I'm not wearing shorts. Which I was wearing jean shorts underneath. But being a tall, long-torsoed girl like me, I had a little trouble getting it to cover my butt. I got this gorgeous lacey white  one from abercrombie and fitch. I know what your all thinking, yes, abercrombie is SO 6th grade but I preferred this one over the thin, cream one at brandy. It's got some gorgeous white lace detail all over it and flows down in tiers. Since it did cut really low and had an open back, I wore a pink lace bralette underneath. I loved the way the pink lace peaked out and popped with the white. It was still a little breezy in Texas, well for me anyways, so I threw on this cascading waterfall cardigan. It hangs perfectly in the front and is a gorgeous bubble gum pink. To finish it off I wore my new baby: my new Ray Ban sunglasses and my other new baby: my Jack Rogers. Recently I've splurged and gotten these pricier items but I believe they've been well worth it! This is an overall casual outfit, perfect for shopping outdoors. Xxx Girl with the Pink Bow

Pacsun High waisted Mom short review/ American Apparel High Waisted short DUPE

pacsun: left | American apparel: right

High waisted shirts are on of my all time favorite trends that I hope will never go out of  style. On my body shape, although I am fairly tall, I'm shaped similar to a petite girl so I am much smaller up top then on the bottom. High waisted shorts cinch in really tight at my waist and are super flattering. However, finding good quality high waisted shorts can be a major struggle. #thestruggle (just kidding). But it is quite frustrating when "highwaisted" shorts are at most, mid rise. Then they cinch in awkwardly halfway to your waist on one of my wider parts. Not flattering! They can look cheap and tacky. Trust me, i am all over every single brands' "highwaisted" shorts. My favorite I have found are hands down American Apparel. My not so favorite are the price that comes with them. They retail for $60-$70 but I am telling you they are worth the price. They are super high waisted, thick and the cuffed bottom is super flattering on the legs. But if your not in the mood to splurge on a pay of shorts, which I totally understand, you may want to take a peek into Pacsun. I found the Pacsun mom shorts online and let me tell you, they are SO similar. The denim is thinner and stretchier, which may or may not be a good thing to you. They're super high waisted and cuff in the same way around the legs. I was planning on ordering a white pair of American Apparel shorts but ordered the white Pacsun ones instead. And the fit was great! I couldn't tell a difference at all. Unfortunately they came in a super light wash denim, and not white. Which sucked because these are only around $35 and fit perfectly. I typically wear a size 24 and from my experience with the bullhead brand at Pacsun, the sizing runs small and I ordered a size 1. If your looking for a pair of denim- colored american apparel shorts, definitely check out Pacsun! Xxx Girl with the Pink Bow

NYC City Proof Intense Lip Crayon

If you have been at any drugstore lately you might have seen these twistable crayons crowding the aisles. This past year, every brand from drugstore to high end, seems to be releasing some form of these chubby sticks. Everyone has talked about how much they love them from the revlon kissable balm stains to the tarte chubby lip stains. They are supposed to go on sort of like a balm, stay on like a lip stain, and provide color like a lip stick. Kind of like an all purpose type thing right? They claim to provide long, comfortable wear. Something you could throw on and not have to worry about touching up your lip color. And, to some extent, I do pretty much agree with there claims. They provide a fairly opaque color and glide on smoothly like a balm. However, every single brand I have tried whether it has been tarte, revlon, or clinique have turned my lips an off orange-y red color. I will say that I can only speak for the nude shades. I like a pale pinky nude, the lighter the better. It's just what looks best on me. So naturally I only purchased pale, nude shade from every brands' lines. I believe that for these lip pencil stains a light nude color provides the ultimate test for the quality and formula of the product. The texture should be thick enough that you can see the light color on my decently pigmented lips but still retain a moisturizing quality. Most lines of these chubby stains such as cover girl and nuetregena don't even include a light nude-y color because they are so difficult to perfect in this formula. Before this NYC one my favorite chubby type stick was the Revlon kissable balm stain in precious. The formula is super creamy, comfortable, and opaque. However it sadly does not stain your lips a nude. In fact, it left my lips dry and a orange-y color. After this encounter, I gave up all together on the chubby sticks until I came across the NYC City Proof intense Lip Crayon.
I picked this up at target for around $3. The shade is Nolita Neutral and I love it! It retains all the qualities a stick should have, gives me an opaque color, and doesn't stain my lips orange. It looks really nice and naturally nude on my lips which is perfect for when I'm not wearing a full face of makeup. The packaging is great and the texture kind of reminds me of the Mac prolongwear lipsticks. And color wise, it's very similar to the Revlon precious which I payed $9 for. If you have been looking for a nude pencil, defitnetly try this one out!
