Sally Hansen gem crush nail polish

Let's just all take a second for this nail polish.... yes this is a nail polish! I was at CVS the other day and saw the Sally Hansen gem crush line for 75% off so I scooped up this shade! Its a hot pink glitter suspended in a clear base with flecks of silver. This is only two coats! How crazy is that?! I'm so obsessed with this line and will definitely be trying to find some more in the future. It went on so opaque and evenly, unlike any other glitter I have in my collection (which is quite massive). It dried extremely fast and was so full of glitter that you could barely see any color underneath it. I got so many compliments and everyone thought that I had gotten a glitter powder done. How amazing and disco-ball like does this look? If you can still find it, for sure pick a couple up because ive never seen a glitter this amazing! BTW: this is on my acrylic nails.

school tip: stay focused!

As the year progresses, paying attention gets harder and harder in class. Your teacher's voice might drone on, and you might find yourself staring out the window, wishing you were on the other side of the boring brick wall of your school. If you can barely focus clearly with no distractions other then a boring window, how do you expect yourself to get homework done with your phone, computer, and ipad out?! One text turns to 50 and a 10 minute youtube video can turn into ten 10 minute videos. Three hours later and you've got nothing done. My advice? Clear yourself of distractions!! Set up somewhere in your house designated just for work. It could be your dining room table, in the study room, or maybe even just on your desk. I tend to get super distracted at my house so I like to venture into Starbucks. I love the atmosphere there. It's warm and inviting and always smells like coffee. Order yourself something nice and warm and get going! You'd be surprised how quickly stuff gets done when your distraction-free!

*btw* I got this adorable little keyboard to use with my ipad mini I got for Christmas? How cute and handy is that? It's perfect for when I don't want to carry around my heavy MacBook!

Texas ya'll

Happy Presidents' Day!!

I did a post a month or so ago about my Sadie Hawkins dance and what dresses I was deciding on. The dance was last weekend and this is what I ended up wearing. Living in Texas, it's considered cute to make everything western themes. Not my favorite... but hey what I can I do?
Necklace- Nordstrom rack
Dress- Frenzi
Boots- TJmaxx

For my hair I just brushed it out and curled it with the large Remington curling wand!

Falling...

Do you ever feel like your falling? Like you have finally dug yourself out only to fall in again, except this time the fall is more painful, it stretches over a longer amount of time, consistently making bigger dents until your in a hole so deep you can't get out again. No matter how much you try to fake and claw your way out, you always seem to slip back in. Because climbing out takes years and years but falling in only takes one slip. Then your in that dark, lonely hole where no matter who or what you surround yourself with it will all feel the same. It all feels like sadness, like your trying to fight a heavy battle alone, or like you've been sprinting too fast and when you stop to catch your breath, you realize how tired you've become and begin to question if you should have even began to run in the first place. No matter how fast you run, darkness always seems to be nipping at your tails until you finally give up and let it pass you, winning the race.

Nutranails 5-7 day Nail Growth Review

My nails have always been a tragedy. When I was younger I peeled and picked the heck out of them. My natural nail buds are fairly long, however I could never manage to keep them looking nice, strong, and well kept. They were constantly scraggly and jagged and on the few occassions that I did grow them out, they were very brittle and broke within the first few days. As I got older I constantly got acrylic nails which are known to absolutely kill nails. And they did slaughter mine.... I also use pure acetone as my main nailpolish remover so that adds to all the torturing I do to my poor nails. However, one of my 2014 new year's resolution was to stop picking! And so I've been trying to keep them well groomed and nourish them strong. *however my sadie hawkins dance is this weekend, and we will see what kind of damage acrylics will do to them*
I bought this product at walmart because they didn't have OPI nail envy and I desperately wanted something that would make my nails grow in length. And I got to say, I'm a big fan of this stuff. It's more of a serum consistancy then a nail polish type product. You don't have to be careful when you apply it because it's not like a nailpolish and will absorb into your nails as opposed to drying on top of them. I've been using this product for about a week now and I have already seen a huge difference! My nails not only grew fast, but they stayed that length and didn't brake off! I am so pleasantly suprised with this product. It retails for around $6 at Walmart and I defitnetly recommend it.
