Outfit of the day: Pastels and DIY in Destin (vacation day 4)

Happy hump day!
Today I am sharing another Outfit from vacation. Santa Rosa Beach is 30 minutes away from Destin so of course we had to spend a day there. We ate at Aj's for lunch and I even tried a raw oyster! (it was pretty gross) I liked this outfit because I wore pretty, light pastel shades which have been my favorite colors lately and because I DIY'd these shorts ALL BY MYSELF. Well maybe my mom helped a little. I had been looking for a pair of plain, light pink, truly high waisted pair of shorts and could not find anything anywhere so my mom and I took a pair of her old high waisted white jeans and altered them to fit me, distressed them, and dyed them. I think they turned out great and I have been getting my use out of these shorts. I paired them with this light, floral, sleeveless, button up blouse which I would've never thought to pair with these shorts since both pieces are so light but when I tried them on together I loved how airy, soft, and fresh it looked.

Outfit of the day: Fun in the Sun + Dinner (vacation day 3)

Happy Tuesday ladies!
Today is not just any other tuesday... its Tan Girl Tuesday! Because this is such an honorable holiday I thought it was the perfect day to share with you guys what I wore (trying) to "catch some waves" on the beach in Santa Rosa. This was vacation day 3 because day 2 was spent driving from New Orleans to Florida.
I'm not wearing makeup guys I would never cake on makeup to be in the water.

Swimsuit: Victoria Secret
Cardigan: Hollister similar to the Brandy Melville one

And then we went to dinner after so I obviously had to change! We ate at the restaurant Local Catch which wasn't very fancy; it defiantly was a casual restaurant and they had really good seafood. I still ate really clean on vacation; I ordered the grilled shrimp with two sides of veggies and it was delicious! You can still eat healthy and enjoy your food on vacation. If something sounds really really good one day then treat yourself! Just make sure your treat is not every meal the whole week. Because restaurants can be a little chilly I made sure to bring a cardigan just in case. My top could easily be dressed up with a skirt because it's a pretty basic blouse but it was also really easy to dress down with a pair of high waisted denim distressed shorts.
Does my top remind anyone else of bubblegum?

This is kind of blurry... Sorry!

My Beach Bag essentials..

After spending the whole week relaxing on the beach I am back and ready to continue blogging! Since I was basically at the beach every single day while in Florida I figured out what items were truly essential for the beach. 1. Flip flops, my favorite are from Abercrombie and Fitch because they're super simple and comfortable. 2. Water, it's important to stay hydrated! Especially if you're going to be under the hot sun. Staying hydrated is super good for your health and your skin. Plus, who wouldn't want an ice cold Fiji water while being baked in the  heat? 3. Crystal light liquid in strawberry lemonade, this stuff is AMAZING. I've been trying to get off my diet coke addiction and this has been perfect to squeeze into water. It's 0 calories and tastes so good! 4. A cover up, I love over size knit cardigans like this one from Brandy Melville. Hollister also makes one that looks pretty similar. 5. Any lip product with SPF, my favorite is the Mac Pro long wear lipcreme. This smells super yummy and mine is a gorgeous light pinky nude color. 6. A beach read! Seventeen magazine is my favorite. 7. Sunscreen, this one is from neutrogena  is my favorite because it doesn't have that horrible sunscreen scent which I hate. 8. Just in case you were wondering, this is my beach bag from Juicy Couture.

Outfit of the day: New Orleans (vacation day 1)

Hello beauties!
I took lots of outfit pictures while I was on vacation and I am super excited to share them with you guys. On our way to the beach we stopped in New Orleans and this is what I wore while we explored the french quarter. It was super hot that day so I wanted something light and breezy.

Outfit of the day: dinner in Seaside + Update!

Hello girls!
Sorry I've been MIA lately! I've been relaxing at the beach! We're staying in a beach house in Santa Rosa, Florida which is just minutes away from Destin, Seaside, and Panama City. I've been taking advantage of the beach and using this time to take a very needed break! I should be back and posting regularly in 2 days. Here's a quick outfit for what I wore to dinner in Destin one night.

I obviously got quite tan so I wanted to accent that with a bright pop of white. I paired a super big white statement floral necklace with a deeper pink top and white shorts to accent my tan legs. The top is kind of a satin material and it reminds me of a blouse I saw at Jcrew but the sleeves of that one were quarter length. The necklace is bought on groopdealz for 14.99! How great of a deal is that?! My mom has the actual jcrew one in red and I LOVE the way it looks on her. Unfortunately red does not go well with pink...

Recent accessory purchases...

TGIF ladies!!
Part two of my little pre-beach haul!

This whole summer I've been searching for the perfect pair of sandals. Ones that would go with every single outfit and every shade of pink I would wear. These were the closest thing I could find. They're by Enzo Angiolini and were on sale at $39.99 on 6pm.com. They're a holographic pink color that kind of morphs into whatever shade of pink I'm wearing that day.

I had a justfab.com credit and decided to use it on these shoes. They were $39.99 and I got them in nude which I thought would be more of a blush color. Instead they were a brown nude so I painted over  them with a light pale pink and now they're perfect.

I had been lusting after the light pink bow necklace from jcrew but couldn't justify the price. When I was at Charming Charlie's I last minute spied this necklace on clearance for 7.99 that looks exactly like the jcrew one! It's such a cute, dainty, necklace that adds a girly touch to any outfit.

I couldn't find a "me" hat anywhere and while my mom and I were in target I spied this little baby on the clearance rack. It was the last one and something was wrong with its barcode so they gave it to me for $3. When they said that I basically fell to the ground with shock. I practically stole this adorable floppy hat from the store.

I picked up these black Betsy Johnson sunglasses from TJmax for $12.99! Cute right?

Recent clothing purchases..

Happy Thursday beauties!
I am going to the beach this Sunday and of course I had to pick up a couple items for vacation! My logic: I have to buy stuff to go somewhere and buy more stuff. Makes sense, right? Here is what I picked up:
I purchased this swimsuit from VS online. I loved the strappy details on the back of the top. This is there strapless push up top and this is my favorite type of top that they sell. They fit true to size although the top does run a little big. It was during the semi-annual sale and I ended up getting the whole suit for under $25! (Can you say STEAL?!)

From a local boutique I bought this pink lace crop top. It's button down and ties right at the waist. I'm visualizing it with high-waisted shorts and a bandeau underneath. This was $29.99.

Also from the same boutique I bought this top which is the same color pink and was the same price of $29.99. It's a peplum top with an eyelet ruffle on the top. It makes me look like I actually have curves and this peplum top actually fits my waist! I have a really hard time finding peplums that fit because I have an extremely small waist. This one is nice and tight then flares out at the bottom.

I had been lusting for the brandy Melville Caroline cardigan but I didn't like the black or the cream color. I wanted it in white. I found this one in Hollister and it's an exact dupe! Plus it was on Clearance for 14.99. I purchased a size small and it's still really big and oversize.

I have a really hard time finding good high waisted shorts. These are from urban outfitters and they are the BDG high rise cheeky shorts mineral wash in berry. They're super high waisted and actually hit me at my waist which is something I never find in high waisted shorts. They were $49 which was a little pricey but these were totally worth it. They run true to size.

From the local boutique I mentioned earlier. These are gorgeous hot pink layered lace shorts. I've seen lace shorts but not in this color. They're high waisted and hit tight at the waist then are loose and flowy at the legs. They're SO comfortable and perfect for the beach! They were 32.99 which I didn't think was bad at all.

I also picked up a few accessories and they'll be in a following post. What have you picked up lately? Xxx Girl with the Pink Bow

My favorite lunch lately

Happy monday! So I'm going to be starting high school in August and I've been doing workouts and volleyball open gym in the mornings from 8-10 and 10:30-12. Right after 3 and a half hours of training I'm obviously STARVING and lucky me, there's a central market right by my high school. My mom and I walked in and practically drooled instantly over the salad bar they had there! Holy amazingness! Best. Salad. Bar. EVER. This is what I've been getting thier!
Iceberg lettuce, spinach, red and yellow peppers, cucumbers, Chinese broccoli, and tuna. (And a diet coke. Sorry I'm not sorry)
Honestly the BEST salad I've ever had. I may or may not have had this for lunch every day this past week. I love living a clean, healthy lifestyle!

Outfit of the day: shopping on a rainy day

Hello beauties!! I woke up on this Sunday to rain. Yes RAIN. I absolutely hate rain. It makes me sad, tired, gloomy, and cold. My mom and I decided to go and pick up some items for our beach vacation next week instead of moping around and watching gossip girl reruns on Netflix. Here's what I wore because it was kinda chilly. Yes, I was in TJmax, it's awkward to take mirror pictures in boutiques because they're so small.

Outfit of the Day: mixing pink and pink

Hello girlies! Today I'm sharing a quick outfit of the day from last week when I grabbed lunch with my mom. It was a beautiful, sunny day here in Texas and my day was extra sunny because there was a package for me in the mail that morning. Don't you just LOVE the feeling of getting packages? I sure do. This one was from derng and I'll admit I was semi disappointed when I tore open the box. I had ordered the may flowers necklace in pink and I had expected it to be a light pastel pink as I had seen on her Instagram (I ordered it off her flash sale) but instead it was a kinda iridescent warm blush pink color and I wasn't so crazy about it. As I was choosing my outfit that day I realized almost nothing in my (admittingly all pink wardrobe) matched the odd pink color of the necklace. I knew I had to go with a white top but I didnt want to go with plain black shorts. I tried on my beloved jcrew neon pink chino shorts and loved the pop of color it gave but it didn't exactly match the necklace. Here is my stroke of genius guys: I had just bought a forever 21 belt the EXACT same shade as the necklace and the odd pink paired of the belt with the neon pink of the shorts were perfect for the outfit. Paired with my favorite and well loved steve madden sandals it was my favorite outfit I wore the whole week.
Isn't she pretty?

My everyday jewelry

Jewelry can add so much to any outfit. It makes you look pulled together and is the perfect finishing touch. Jewelry is like the sprinkles and frosting on top of a cupcake; fine without it but it brings it to a whole new level of perfection. Don't get me wrong, I love my chunky, colorful statement jewelry but when it comes to everyday I wouldn't be wearing my favorite statement necklace because that's exactly what is it, a statement. However, there are a few key pieces that I wear everyday that look amazing with any outfit and even layered with other statement pieces. When you first look at someone's outfit you would obviously notice whatever item that was the "statement" of their outfit. Your eyes will naturally be more drawn to a neon pair of jeans or big beaded necklace then a small, simple, dainty necklace. But when I'm talking to someone and  I catch a glimpse of a little, pretty necklace it makes me think "oh wow she took the time and effort to finish off her outfit and pay attention to little details."
These are my beloved and very worn pieces that I wear everyday and with everything...

We'll start with rings because I got my purity ring when I turned 13. This one is from James Avery and I love it! Most people have it but I just love the writing and the little engraved symbols. The words mean a lot to me and this ring is just a symbol of my religion and my tie to God.
I wear it on my left thumb. I got a size 7

It says faith, hope, love
This next ring I got for Christmas and it's gorgeous. I wanted something pink and pretty, small but I wanted the pink to be a little bit of a pop. I wanted it to look like a nice piece, not something cheap and tacky from forever 21 and this one is perfect! Unfortunately my mom purchased my ring from a jeweler  so I can't link it to you and I believe she custom picked the details so I can't link this one for you guys.
It's a pink sapphire. I got a size 5 and wear it on my left index finger.

Ok my last ring is the pretty, super delicate ring. I had my eyes on this James Avery Claddagh Ring  for a while but I wanted something with a little bit of pink in it. So another pink sapphire it is! This one is also from another local jeweler. I got the heart in their claddagh ring taken out and replaced it with a lighter, more iridescent pink sapphire.
I got a size 4 and wear it on my right ring finger
On to bracelets! This one isn't exactly extremely delicate but I love it and it represents me so well. It's a juicy couture charm bracelet and I'll link the actual bracelet to you guys but I can't link all my charms because some are older and charms are really your own thing to get. I love how my parents get me a single charm for certain things like birthdays and special occasions (holidays, graduation, finishing the semester off with good grades), it really makes this bracelet very special.
Some charms are silver, some are gold so it goes with everything

My everyday jewelry continued...

This next bracelet is something that also isn't super dainty and delicate but I love it and wear with my charm bracelet as well. This is a gold juicy couture link bracelet and I LOVE the bow clasp. Unfortunately its sold out but this one  is pretty similar

Close up of the clasp
Isn't it gorgeous?

Necklaces... This first tiny star one I am absolutely obsessed with. My parents got it custom crafted(is that the right word?) from a jeweler. Its all gold and I don't know the karats but it's really fine and I have to be really careful I won't break it. It sits right on my collarbone and is super small and super delicate. Sorry I can't link this one for ya'll since its custom.
What it looks like on

This next necklace I love layered with my star necklace when I'm not wearing a statement necklace. It's from juicy couture(I love their jewelry) and I think it's super pretty. Unfortunately it's not online but I purchased mine from Bloomingdales. The pink rock looks darker and lighter under certain lights and what shade of pink I'm wearing. It sits on my chest and the chain is a little longer then my star necklace.

Isn't she pretty?
